How much do you spend on groceries, doing all of this?

Friday, January 27, 2012 at 11:01AM (URBAN VIEW) In an urban middle America environment, this is what we spend:
Every two or three weeks we find we have made, between the two fo us, about 3 trips to the store. One will have been to a largerwith a greater expenditure. Two of the trips will have been smaller and less expensive. A trip to the produce store results in a large number of fruit and vegetable items, for about two weeks of dinner side items, but the cost is comparatively less per item than when we visit the larger grocery store.
So we spend (for a family of 3):
Either $40 at the health food store on mostly grain items,
OR $40 at the grocery store, on specifically extra lunch items
Then $60 at the produce store,
AND $120 at the large grocery store.
Though not always in that order. This has remained the same regardless of A's age. While I was pregnant and until A was perhaps 9 months old - I would honestly add about $100 in trips to Whole Foods. Each Month. That's just how it went.
